location

Located on the east side of the island, a 5 minute drive from Friday Harbor, 20 minutes from Roche Harbor, and a 3 min drive / 20 min walk to False Bay.

the house

The 2700 sq.ft. two story house is warm and inviting, with an open floor plan, spacious window seats, and cathedral ceilings.  It has one large bedroom downstairs with a king bed and an optional single bed and two bedrooms upstairs with queen beds.

One full bathroom downstairs and one bathroom upstairs with shower.  Large rooms with a tasteful mix of high quality contemporary and antique furniture. Features a large garden view dining room.  Sweeping views west from all rooms.  The house sleeps seven easily. The sunny window seats are a popular napping spot, also great for sleeping kids or overnight guests.

the kitchen

The large walk-through kitchen has ceramic tile floor and counters, with a spacious walk-in pantry.  Top of the line appliances: easy to clean glass top stove, large refrigerator and dishwasher.  Fully equipped kitchen for a gourmet cook, all utensils, cookware, spices, and tableware.  A barbecue is available too.  The laundry area has new front load washer, and dryer.

the farm

Guests in the house will not be disturbed by the workings of the farm -  the barns, fields and animals are managed by the owner and caretaker who lives on a farm a few miles away. Currently a population of North Country Cheviot sheep are in the fields. Some seasons they are joined by horses.

the island

Besides enjoying the house and the garden, the island offers many great walks/hikes, bike riding, kayaking, bird watching, beach combing, and whale watching. Friday Harbor has great restaurants and cafés - even a movie theatre. Sorry, no traffic signals though - no real good reason for having any.
